I actually like both ways, I like Toms bike (Brokenfixed) with no side covers or anything on it,totally open under the seat. But I like my bike the way it is with side covers and cheese graters. I wouldn't mind having another SM to do the low /no side covers look with flat black paint. If I crashed mine and stuff got damaged thats what I would probably do.
