Ed you know I love the 38 Speedtwin but I still vote for the new old tank with the knee indents. I would give my left nut for that Speedtwin....literally.

This would be a GREAT thread for a (drumroll) PICTURE of both side by side. Top down, whatever view will show the difference the best.

No that's the old new tank :P

I vote old.

One of the many reasons I love my America is that I don't have to feel like I'm doing the splits while riding with my knees pointed to 3 and 9 o'clock like on certain American-made bikes. That new tank looks a little too much like "those other bikes" for my taste.

Old Tank!
Especially Yellow & Black Ones!

Here's to getting it right the first time!

Maybe Triumph will see the error of their ways and bring it back.

Well in my Alec Hoag manner of writing, I was going to say

Old v New, "Whatever holds gas and comes with the bike." But I won't after seeing the pic of the new beavis and butthead tank next to the pre-fuel injection version.

New tank looks fine, but the old tank looks classic. I especially like the old tank with the knee pads in the indents.

Just in case Triumph does read the posts on this site, I'd like to reiterate my opinion that Old Tank kicks New Tank's ar$e.

Sat on both had my choice, bought the 2007 with the old tank. My wife and both daughters agreed that they liked the old tank better (and since they know better than me on all things style, I felt vindicated)

Old Tank with kneepads!

I saw the new tank on the Speedmaster, on display, at the recent recruitment drive in Sriracha, Thailand. I was told the old tank was made by a German company. The new tank is made at the plant in Chonburi, Thailand. I don't like the look of it and told the guy that, not that it mattered!

Blue/White 2007 TBA, Thruxton needles, Unifilter, AI removed, Polaris Bellmouth, Bubs, Nology Coils/wires, Lightbar, Ricor Intiminators, Hagon Nitros, Tall Sissy Bar w/luggage rack, Dart flyscreen & Lowers. 130 Mains, TrueGel Battery MG12-BS.

German company can make a compound curve but the Thailand plant can't.

New tank looks like a Honda VTX750!
