The reason I do not post much is because I grew up reading EZrider & Playboy instead of Tolystoy. I think what Im trying to say here is that I cant type or spell even with spellcheck it's tough sometimes! and I am not alone in the U.S at least I remember people in school that were worse than me!
OK that took 5min. of huntin&peckin well my point is if you would like to here from the silent few be patient with us some of us are special you know

Special Ed!

Sorry I had to, Welcome to the site. In case you hadn't noticed I can't spell either! I never could I was ahead of my class in most everything else but have some mental blaock when it comes to that!

Keep posting we'll keep reading.

when you look through the forums a lot of the posts are from old hands who know one another and you feel like if you post you are not apart of the group and you are butting in

Well put !!! On my previous bike forum (CBR1100xx) I had in excess of 6000 posts, had been a member for years, knew many of the folks on there from rideouts, weekend meets, rallies etc. I attended weddings, baby christenings, parties and funerals of various members of the forum as the people on there had become something like family.
On joining a new forum you feel like the 'outsider' and although you may post a comment on a thread it often gets passed over as an 'old hand' may have replied after your post and many on the forum know him/her. It's natural that the 'old hand' gets a response as more members know them.

Just my €0.02 worth !!!!

Well , what lies beneath these cyber entities are REAL , ACTUAL people with actual personalities . Some are gregarious , while others ( like myself ) are the shy , introvert types . We are all just standing around a fire , here fellow Neandertals , some have the flicker of the flames upon their faces , while some are in the shadows of the gathering . Well , guess who is watching out for the Sabre Tooths and Velociraptors ? Jump in , O Shy Ones , the fire is warm .

Question: Would this then make all those poor evolution-challenged H-D riders out there Cro-Magnons, in that case?

(certainly any empirical data you could furnish in this matter could lend addition creedence to the Darwinian theory, and finally put to rest, once and for all, that any idea of an "Intelligent Design" created in Milwaukee Wisconsin would be scientific "hog"wash, RIGHT?!)

Merciful heavens! Talk about genome sequencing overload...

Yep Ed! "Genome sequencing overload"...aka...hijacking a thread!

Actually(and getting at least a little back on track here), my "theory" in this matter is that the shy, anonymous homo sapiens among us who may refrain from participation in these forums are more the result of environmental influences than any inherent and/or inate traits.

(I base this theory on the fact that both my parents were blowhards TOO...and I was adopted!)

To bring things back on track further

I'm one of the anonymous users............at least some of the time.

Its been 16 months since I gave up my speedmaster and yes I do miss it now....I didn't after a couple of months on the 1050 ST. However that bike has done all I could ask of it and a little more besides (sorry officer I won't do that again. No officer I wasn;t me you stopped two months ago....I scraped these knee sliders on a track day!!)

After finding myself in a 120mph plus comfort zone on my daily commute I have decided its maybe time to stop waiting for the haha 1500cc bike and get back to a more relaxed way of riding.

The wife and kids don't like to go pillion anymore as I tend to ride in a way thats slow for me but over fast for them.

I'm guessing its going to be the new 08 model speedmaster for me in the spring time, the rocket is just too big to commute on.

Anyways I may log on as my user name more often lol....just to please you Ray

hmmm funny line to follow

Hi Lowey- Im afraid im also responsible for the ride around york, both at night and during the day

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tMgZxsaxCY (day by Bonneville America)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ViwBbacOXY (night by Bonneville America)

Mrs RodYork makes a cameo appearance through the mirror of the day ride...we were responsible for that one...sorry!

Mrs RodYork has now passed her bike test- which was one of the reasons I changed (down) bike and we both now ride Yamaha Fazers, which in UK are classed as good "just passed test/commuter" bikes.

I changed the bike for a number of reasons - the main one being the above, but I tell you all what I miss the most ....

its the pulling up at a cafe or wherever and people of all ages admiring the look and sound of the bike, asking questions such as "Triumph???- are they still in business?" or "what year is it?"- to which my (rehearsed and stolen from here) one line answer faultlessly delivered was "hey spaceman its 2007!" - yes I miss having the bike noticed and giving the pretend sports riders a run for their money on the twisties- oh, the shame of a cruiser ruining their image - this was an influencing factor in my Fazer choice (new to biking bike) as shown here at he end of the video.( I understand that some will refuse to watch the video as its not a Triumph- but think of the rider as Triumph guy who has lost his way! )

I must pop over here more often!

Regards

RodYork
