When I had my Hardly Road King, that big ole screen seemed so right. But when I got my TBA I couldn't wait to remove the windshield (which is how I met Big Poppy, by the way).
A fly screen and a lot of adjusting its angle solved the wind on the chest buffetting while ear plugs cut the noise to a dull roar.
After a year on the TBA, I'd never go back to a windshield although the occasional bug in my mouth is a bother.
