I had a '77 GS400. You are right about that charging system. I worked a 12 hour shift in Baltimore, rode home 2 hours on the bike at 3 AM. Charging system was shot so I couldn't stop or the bike wouldn't restart. It was in the 50's early in Fall. By the time I got home, I was shaking so much from the cold, I had to sit in front of an open oven door for an hour.
