As much as what you say makes sense, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a new trend in the making, as was the case with the supermotard motorcycles. They were odd initially and now everyone is making them.
I have noticed Voxan in France are also making a scrambler model.
I am sure there is a market out there for "off-on" as opposed to "on-off" dual-purpose bikes ... or a market will be made for them.
The minute we see other manufacturers jump on the band-wagon we'll know (especially the Japanese).
