How true !!! I owned 2 CBR1100xx's (one used then a brand new one) and I was lucky to get 3500 miles out of a rear tyre and about 5000 miles out of the front. A pair of tyres fitted and balanced was around £185 ($370) !!! I was lucky, two mates I rode with had a Hayabusa and a ZX-12 respectively....average tyre life was 2500 miles for a rear !!
