Actually, some radio station years ago had voted that the best all-time love song. It's a great song, btw.

I have to put in a vote for the first rock song to ever catch my ear:

House of the Rising Sun- The Animals

There's also a very rare version by a Psychodelic band,

Frigid Pink

That's a hard one to nail down. Some times it's Teddy Pendergrass : Close the door. It can at other times be Dave Brubeck's 9to5. Some times it's Tchaicovski's opening to his fifth, Chopan's second concerto(largeto) or any Puccini aria. Or I may want to hear a little orange blossem special or blue river if I'm on a Johny Cash kick. My point is that there is so much good music out there. To chose "the" song is mission impossible for me.

Not possible that I could even choose the top 100 songs of all time. Everyone here seems to be hitting right on my wavelength (Pink Floyd Led Zeppelin etc). How about Ted Nugent Stranglehold or the Stones can't you hear me knockin'.

right now i ENJOY a lot of what Joe Bonnamassa is doing, my favorite is probably "if i get to heaven" but i am a big Supertramp fan and do believe that they are one of the greatest bands of all time so it would be hard for me to pick just one of their songs, their best album is probably crime of the century???

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

I saw Joe in concert last summer He played a song I think High water everywhere, I did'nt think the acoustic quitar would survive the song. It was played so violently, but played beautifully. diffenatly a favorite.

Perhaps not the "best of all time", but my favorites are rock ballads....Styx "Suite Madame Blue", Scorpions, "Still loving you", Gary Moore's "Still have the blues for you", and Triumph's "Hold on", and "Magic Power".

The VH1 Classic channel has the "Classic Albums" series on, where they reunite the artists & those involved with an album's production and pull tracks out at the board, and so on. Good stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_Albums

Currently in rotation: Hendrix - Electric Ladyland, Steely Dan - Aja, Pink Floyd - Dark Side of The Moon, Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life, Cream - Disraeli Gears.

This series is new to me, but perhaps old news to many.

I have this on cd, released on WB # 3266-2.
I no longer have the Lp. If memory serves me on the original LP the members were listed either on the inside cover or the outside cover with different names. In other words Mark Knopfler (one of the greatest pickers of our lifetime) was listed as say " John Thompson" or something to that effect. I have never heard this explained anywhere.
That memory could have been chemically induced
I'm sure someone will correct me on this.

Hey, think you are right. I'll have to dig out my LP.
Speaking of pickers, I have a great CD with Knopfler and Chet Atkins, "Read My Licks" that is no longer available. Both amazing.
