Wonder is this where the idea for the other well known Scottish dish the battered mars bar came from?

There is no better breakfast than the All American full course breakfast.

3 eggs over medium with a large plate of home fries, six slices of bacon just crisp, a small slab of ham, and three nice pork sausages, a small glass of OJ , Three slices of toast to sop up the eggs with and a side plate of buttermilk pancakes slathered in butter and rolling in warm maple syrup and an endless cup of coffee.

Ummm just writing about it makes my mouth water.

Would scrapple be a close American equivalent to black pudding?

Scrapple & grits 2 different things
Scrapple is a savory mush in which cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour, are simmered with pork scraps and trimmings, then formed into a loaf. Small scraps of meat left over from butchering, too small to be used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste. Scrapple is best known as a regional food of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.

Someone told me about a semi-authentic Brit pub in Portland a while back, but I never did find it. We definitley don't have anything that serves food like that (so much for ethnic diversity). I think the closest we have that is genuine would be Sowerby's in Chehalis.

Sowerby's is great! I just hardly get to get up that way. Oh and I did remember a Scottish pub on Broadway (Rose and Thistle), nice place but the haggis isn't right, and I don't think they do breakfast.

I loooove black pudding although I grew up on the Polish version of it, don't know if it tastes the same. Fry that up with some eggs in the morning, mmmm mmmmm.

I should go get some, it's been a long time since I've had it.
