a 'Full English' includes most if not all of the following:
Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Black pudding, fried bread, beans and/or tomatoes, mushrooms.
Most people don't have one that often.
p.s. As a kid I always wondered why the pig was called 'Full English'.

ok it's dried pigs blood put into sausage form

Black pudding or less often blood pudding is a sausage made by cooking blood with a filler until it is thick enough to congeal when cooled

Ew. I've heard of blood sausage before. I suspected black pudding might be of a similar vein. If I ever make it across the pond I'll have to remember to ask them to hold the black pudding on my traditional British breakfast...

even when i did eat meat it was something that made my stomach turn.
These days if I have a 'full english' it's veggie sausages, veggie bacon (just bacon flavoured soya strips) no black pudding and the rest is the same. maybe with a hash brown.

Black Pudding is something to be desired John, really tasty and little bits of fat in as well, usually fried but I like grilled with my breakfast.. or on a sandwich on it's own

Black Pudding is the food of the gods.
In Dingle, Ireland we had homemade black pudding. It was... perfect.
I miss a good Ulster fry.

What I want to know (not really, this is rhetorical) is who was the first person to think of making blood sausage? Who thought, "Hey, I've got all this blood leftover from butchering a pig, hmmmmm, what to do... hey, I know, let's make it into sausage! Yummie!"

Brummie forgot the toast and coffee as well. I only usually have these breakfasts on holiday, as they really do set you up for the rest of the day!!! Or on a run out with the lads:  This a little extreme but you get the idea. Grzegorz may remember this one!!!!

Wow, thanks guys, the wife said, "Heidi Klum and husband Seal opened cans of beans for breakfast"..... wanted to know if it was a quirk or normal fare.... looks like normal fare to me, and Kudos to the picture posters, most enlightening.... Thanks again.

them aint heinz beans in them pics .  Full breaky ...... couple o eggs,ayrshire bacon,tattie scones,black puddin, fruit puddin, haggis (yea i said haggis) square sausage,couple o slices o fried bread (brown bread if your health conscious),beans(heinz, of course)and gallons of tea(can be substituted for Irn Bru), me i dont drink tea and i hate beans with fry ups (but a luv beans on toast), oh yea and a few slices of toast . all of course fried in "no trans fat" lard . ....... is it any wonder Scots have the worst rate of heart disease in europe/world ..........bloody irn bru, dangerous stuff but dam tastey

Aw heck, now I'm hungry - I used to hit the English pub in Frankfurt every Sunday morning and get me a Full English, which in that case was bangers, bacon, beans, black & white puddings, eggs, taties, toast, tomato (which I'd skip), and a pint  Can't find a decent real pub in the greater Vancouver/Portland area either

Ulster Fry  Bacon,Sausage,Mushroom,Soda & potato bread,black pudding,egg. No beans I dont eat them that often as they are also known as a heart attack on a plate, only when on holiday.

Someone told me about a semi-authentic Brit pub in Portland a while back, but I never did find it. We definitley don't have anything that serves food like that (so much for ethnic diversity). I think the closest we have that is genuine would be Sowerby's in Chehalis.

Umm, what's the black pudding? I'm pretty sure its the little black circles? I had a full English breakfast at a pub close to my house once and I think I actually liked it! (not knowing what is was.)
