i started working with mainframe computors 25 years ago. recently and after 6 years of touring the "gentlemens clubs" of the mainland united states while working as a mainframe systems programmer - jack of all trades - contractor for the internal revenue service, i somehow landed a gig at an agency that supplies 25 cents of every dollar spent in the u.s. economy, the social security administration!! i was doing mainframe systems programming, cics and websphere for z/os especially, and somehow got roped into mid level management. i'm respected by my crew (mostly contractors and a couple ssa employees in kma mode) and my upper level management (who really have all paid their dues and walk the walk). i see myself retiring from here in upper management if only because very few people do what i know how to do anymore.

Well i,m just a humble labourer in the waterworks department of a local municipality. i,m presently working my way into the pump station end of things (more money less work ahahaha). oh yea, i know what they do to YOUR water .
I also help my better half with her business ,looking after 2 down syndrome lads, and this is without doubt, the best and most satisfying job i ever had . certainly makes you appreciate a lot of things you normally take for granted . and it can be a real hoot too . But i gotta tell you guys that .... well..... i always wanted to be a lumberjack leaping from tree to tree, as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia.the Fir! the Larch! ,the Redwood the mighty Scots Pine with my best gal by my side ....... singing ..........OH i,m a lumberjack.. come on all together now

I must have installed and reinstalled and re-re-installed that software a zillion times on a half-zillion computers for a large corporation for 25 years. Then I got a chance at a buyout and never looked back. ONce you retire you find you never have enough time to hold a job-although I thought about it a few months ago-for 10 or 15 seconds.

I am a Power Dispatcher. Working for a local utility distributing electrical power and related safety clearances. 30yrs hopefully be able to retire in 3 or 4 years if I can get my family to stop eating. Serious though, with my wife disabilites and illness I may have to wait longer just to keep the medical insurance.

Webmaster/System Developer/computer support/Network Support for Cummins Northwest for the last almost 8 years. Before that I worked in paint shops since I was twelve (20 years of painting). If it's paintable, I have probably shot it. My body got tired, so I went into computers.

I write service at one of the nation's largest LEXUS dealerships. Over 8 years here now, and was a vendor here for 7 years before I came to work here, having worked for that company almost 10 years. That was a textile leasing company (G&K Services) and I was the "uniform man". I wrote service before that and ran GOODYEAR Tire stores before that.

It's all customer service. One and the same.
