what is the widest tire you can get under a bonny? i know they make a wide tire kits. with the kit what is the widest you can fit. I know the only way to go to a 200mm or bigger would be to use a jack shaft. thanks for the help.

Under a bonny? Or under an America/Speedmaster?

Regardless, there are no kits.

It's just a bigger hoop on the stock hub. It's not really a kit. Several people have done that without British Customs' help. Ask Soul_Survivor what size he used. I think he had Buchanan relace it.

i got this information from Soul_survior...so i thought i would share it with everyone.
you can put a 180 tire on the stock 4 inch rim and it will fit within the swing armon an America. But it will be unsafe and you may lose a bead which will could result in you crashing. Any tire 180 or bigger should be mounted on a 5&1/2 inch rim. The 'wide tire' kit BC sells allows you to fit a 180-210 tire on their 5&1/2 inch rim and is sold with the correct offset which is important. To my knowledge BC is the only company that has taken the time to calculate the correct offset. My photos under 'custom' shows a 200 mounted on a 5&1/2 tire on my America. If you have a T-100/bonneville the widest you will be able to fit is a 180. BS sells a wide tire kit for those as well. A 200 will not fit on a T100/bonneville

I got the tire mounted on my bike...wow does it look good. the 180mm tire really feels out back of the bike nicely. I have posted some new pics of my bike. It is still not finished but it will be by the time i get home from iraq.

Good one!
I've had a 180/70 Marathon on my Speedy since last Feb. No problems, no weird handling, no difficulty installing/seating the bead, and certainly no crashing.
