For those of you who don't get the e-mail newsletter, Triumph has rolled out it's new accessories for 2008. http://www.triumph.co.uk/usa/accessories.aspxFour new mirrors, highway pegs and adjustable mounts, and chrome badges (for saddlebags?). I was hoping for more, but their stuff is overpriced anyway.

Couple of things I noticed.....
While looking at the mirrors - they are all listed for the Rocket. Will rocket mirrors fit our bikes?
While looking at the adjustable highway pegs - it makes mention of the new improved engine guards - but I couldn't find them.....
Teardrop mirrors are nice and not too badly priced compared to some aftermarket stuff...

I just checked out the UK site, for the front caliper covers and it says you can plug the optimate into them..
Think the web designer needs to check what links they have going here and there..

It's a little rough around the edges. I think the update was a little bigger than simply uploading info about the new accessories. If you're browsing the accessories and click "show model" at the bottom, it doesn't exactly work.

Our bikes have the same hand controls but different grips.

I concur.. I would have really liked to see highway pegs that you don't need the dresser bars.. oh well..
One thing I did notice is the 'large' bags.. may have to check them out.. might look a little better than the old ones I had from Triumph

I noticed those new, Large bags in an email from Triumph. They look identical to my Saddleman Large Drifters but the info says they are made of leather. Close to $600, wow. I'd stick with Leatherneck Jim's back for half that cost or my Saddlemans at $150. Yep Dog, underwhelming.

The large bags do look good and the angle seems to fit the bike better. I assume, like the other ones, they come with the chrome offset bars. I guess they would have to be different too. I wish they had shown the new dresser bars. The original ones distracted from the bike IMO.

I see the new Highway pegs and mounts, but nowhere did I see the new Dresser bars - did I miss something?

If you go just to the UK site and download the brochure (PDF file) it shows the dresser bars, mounts and pegs that will be available in Spring 2008. Also has the mirrors in the America/Speedmaster section.

not very impressive and disheartening to see that some of the items are cheaper over in the US than in the UK.

More than 50% cheaper? Otherwise you're still ahead.

It is almost funny, a lot of U.S. made goods are less expensive in other countries than in the U.S. You would think that anything imported should be more expensive than domestic goods.

Thanks, Joh. I've been holding off on saddlebags, but I really like the styling on the new large ones.

Aint it the truth... on my honeymoon in Scotland (OT:I sat next to Clint Eastwood at dinner ) i bought a nice bottle of whiskey, cost me £39.99. I saw the same bottle on my holiday in France for £5 less

I am with you on being underwhelmed at the offering of accessories for the America. That being said, I am trying to find highway pegs for my older style engine dresser guard. I have the one that is V shaped and not the newer style one that looks more like a U. I did not realize when I had the engine dresser guard put on last fall that there were no highway pegs specifically made to fit that style. I am hoping to not have to change out the one I have because I like the look of it on the bike, but I do quite a bit of travelling on the bike and would like to have the highway pegs on the engine dresser guard. Plus, I just like to put things on my bike :-). Thanks in advance for any help.

Sam here is what I did for the stock dresser bars. I can not remember what the part number is, but if you search back far enough I know I have posted it. Larger pics in the photo post

So order online from the USA...
Australia is the same. I order all my OEM Triumph accessories from www.madss.com Excllent service and discounted price, they obtain the goods direct from Triumph and on forward. Gets delivered to my door. Shipping can add a bit to the price, but my nearest Triumph Dealer is $30 in fuel round trip... Probably cost me $10 more but three hrs of my time is worth the $10.
(Obviously check your VAT requirements). In Oz, as long as its below around $500.00 AUD, duties do not apply.

Nah.....to get stuff imported just ain't worth it.
Bought a model of a 3HW from someone in the States. Old. Opened, but not assembled. Got charged VAT on it. Think I paid US$70 for it. Bought some stuff off Cafe Press for my mum for Xmas, they marked it as 1 shirt, got charged VAT for them, even though they take each article....not the whole parcel. That was US$78. Got the thermal neck collar thing (goes in the jackets) from Triumph from the dealer in Hornsby NSW and that was cheaper than back here. Go figure.
