I know you guys have already talked about this not long ago, but feel the need to rant. So I recently recommended that a friend of mine check out the dealer that I bought my triumph from, as I love my new Triumph and had a very positive experience buying from them, even considering that it took a full month to get my bike in once it was ordered (wow, that's a really long sentence!). Anyway, I got a really good deal on it, but remember really having to kind of kick and scream initially, but was very satisfied with the interactions afterward, and like the folks that work there. So my friend goes into the same dealer after I brag 'em up, and gets treated like a total dog turd

. Where they worked with me on my '07, they are doing nothing for friend, and charging him about a grand's worth of extra BS fees. It's really irritating. I'm PO'd cause here I am, sticking my neck out for the dealership, trying to help them, and then boom, they treat my friend like a second rate customer. When my friend then went and called another dealer that was about three hours away, they said that the only fee they charged was a forty dollar processing fee. My friend showed our local dealership the quote and he was told by the seller that if he went to the other dealership to get the lower price that he was somehow "devaluing" Triumph in general, and that he would not get the 10% RAT discount if he bought the bike elsewhere, even though he would still be RAT. So my upset at this point has to do with feeling caught in the middle, as I don't want to PO my local Triumph mechanic and dealer when they have treated me well, and I will likely continue to have interactions with them as long as I own my bike. At the same time though, I want to let 'em know that I'm PO'd because they did not treat my friend as well as they treated me. Oh, and to tell them that the whole deal about "devaluing" Triumph by getting a better deal is a bunch of s***. A consumer should always consider their own best interests in a sales interaction unless they are a total moron. I told my friend to go to the out of town dealership and get the bike.
