Just yanking your chain Rob. I read your entire trip report and enjoyed every bit of it.
And just to stay on topic...Rotella T 5w40 with a PureONE PL14612 the last couple of changes(every 4,000 miles), but I've tried most oil and filter combos without noticing any difference. I might switch the filter to something else since it hangs down farther than the stock one.
