Does anyone own the Triumph Samford jacket? What do you think of it? I am getting one in a few days and am quite excited - just wanting to get some feedback. Thanks!

Had mine for 12 months +. I love it !! Wore it from England to Spain and back in June this year, so from cool to b!oody hot. Zip vents work well and fasten back lapels stop all that flapping around. They get better with age too. Good choice in my book.

I noticed other Triumph jackets have removable liners, but the Samford doesn't. It stays cool in the Summer and Warm in the winter then? Without removable liner does it get too hot in the summer?

It's hot in summer like any jacket with sensible level of protection, but only when stationary. It has a vent zipper in each bicep, plus 1 down each side of the back, which hide perforated leather panels. This has 2 effects...1 allows air flow and 2 makes the jacket a little bit larger so it's not clinging. Also for warm weather, the lapels can be opened and secured with poppers (to stop them flapping around). It then looks more like a traditional Highway jacket (Marlon Brando style). It was 32degC when I was in in Barcelona and, whilst my legs were dripping with sweat (I was wearing Triumph Cordura jeans), the Samford was fine with just a Tee under.
For cooler weather riding you can get a Triumph fleece neck and chest liner (not a full jerkin) that fixes to the inside of your Samford with velcro. Down to around 3degC I generally find a thermal vest + Tee + Micro fleece (all long sleeve) is satisfactory under my Samford.

Thanks a bunch for the info. The jacket didn't show up today, so I should get it tomorrow. I'll try it out soon!

Nice looking jacket jsdugan. My wife got me the Dean jacket for our anniversary before i even had the bike. Just wore it for the first time today and love it, very good protection and I love the classic look of the jacket too.

The jacket didn't make it here on Saturday either. Not sure if UPS is working today, but if I'm lucky I will get it today - if not, I'm calling MCC to get a tracking number!

Got the jacket - I love it! I have been riding in town in the 30's at times and my body does not get cold. It is a HEAVY, nice jacket. The arms are a bit long, but better long when riding than short - no cold air on the wrists. Once again - thanks MCC in Villa Park. Makes riding much more enjoyable.

Phew !! glad you like it after all my bulling it up. It's a bummer if something you've really looked forward getting doesn't come up to expectation. Cheers. John
