It looks similar to the old Bathtub model but I thought they were 500cc. Unit construction so it would have to have been after 1963

In '59 Triumph had the 5TA Speed Twin with the bathtub enclosure that was basicly a 500cc TwentyOne.
I am not sure what the TwentyOne represented.

21 cubic inches = 350cc

Nope, Triumph went to unit construction with the 500cc before the 650. The 350 was basicly the same as the 500 and some of the bathtub models were 500cc some were not.

I'm glad you cleared that up! In hte back of my head, I kept snagging onto the 120 and other models that were numbered according to top speed. I could just see a bobby going after a speeder on a bike with a 21 MPH limit.

Well, it does look like a kind of a bobbed bathtub for a bobby, eh? Definitely not 120mph though

I agree. It would look pretty sharp. I wish I had some extra cash and a place to put it if I could even buy it

I wonder if back in the day that was a feared interceptor...or if you could just roll on throttle and blast off on your 500cc matchless or whatever. not that i would..
I never wanted to lead, and I never wanted to follow.
I just wanted to ride.

Geoff fought da law, butda, law wun While he was making a U-turn to come chat with me, I tried to outrun a CT State trooper in his Crown Vic Interceptor. Trouble was, my ride was a Wolfsburg Jetta. Great car, but at 50 or whatever HP, not quiiite up to the task. He was a little mad at me when I finally gave in. Ah, those days of yore with their perceptions of invincibility... Quote:

Those 350s and 500s were suprisingly quick for the day. Not much difference between riding a 650 or a 500.

No doubt I'll get shot down in flames here, but if that's a UK registration (and it looks like one), it's pre-'63. The first two letters of the reg show it was orginally registered in Cheshire. Oh, BTW guys across the pond, PLEASE pronounce it Chesha and not Chesh-shire. Thanks
