I have recently joined the Patriot Guard Riders and I'm looking for ways to mount a flag on my 05 Speedy. If there are any of you who have flag mounts I'd like some differnt ideas (pics if possible). I would like it to be easily removable, and mounted with as little modification as possible. Thank you for any help.

This site could give you an idea to build or just buy... Flag bracket later, Tom.
But, what do I know?

Check the forums on PGR there are many threads dedicated to flag mounting. Also, check out the other bikes on missions for ideas. I have looked for anything available commercially, did not like them or were not going to pay the price they wanted. I am planning to make a set that will bolt to the sissy bar as a permanent mount. they will be unobtrusive when a flag pole is not in them. Good Luck.

Vendors like J&P Cycles carries assorted flag mounts. The couple times I mounted a flag I used plastic zip ties to the sissy bar. http://www.jpcycles.com/metric.aspxjh

If that's going to be your standard answer from now on I think we ought to start warning people away from your new business.

If you have the Rivco product rear rack on your bike.( If not Brent will gladly supply one)Kuryacan(sp) sells a small flag mount that will pinch bolt to one of the rails of the rack. If you are looking to mount a large flag like 3 or 4 feet long, your best best is gonna be have something custom made up and mounted ot the bike...

If my memory (???) is correct, I think one of the Chicago area ba.com Patriot riders posted a photo of a custom flag mount he developed for large flags awhile back. Maybe somebody will chime in?

I've been looking for mounts also...most of the ones I've found are meant to be secured to Harley bags or a sissy bar - no help. I'll have to try that link or Matthew's idea :P Oh and SWA, remember the colors go on the flag's own right (or the right of the vehicle). Pardon if I'm telling you what you already know, I just see left-mounted flags on a lot of trucks and it peeves me. And thank you for joining PGR - you guys are much appreciated by me and mine

You might try a West Marine store. They have flag mounts for boats that might work.

A sissybar and a couple of U bolts will do the trick. Duct tape will work, but you have to deal with removing the glue later on. You can also use pipe strap attached with the peg mount bolts.
