OK, I suppose I am behind the times, BUT, is the BA metric? I use metric tools but is it classed as a metric bike. Have the Poms gone metric? Are the threads on the BA metric or imperial? I have no idea. You think I would but I never even considered it.

Yup. The fastners are metric size/thread. However, I think the term "metric bike" is a catch all term for Japanese.
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.

I'm not sure, but I understand that it was invented near Roswell NM.

Torx were created to keep anti-social types from breaking into your car and stealing your seatbelts or adjusting your headlights... I don't know where that was a big problem, but that's the first places I ever encountered them.

Ok, here's more than you wanted to know:
The TORX drive system was developed in the Camcar Technical Center, located in Rockford, Illinois. By design, TORX head screws resist cam-out better than Phillips head or slot head screws. Where Phillips heads were designed to cause the driver to cam out, to prevent over-tightening, TORX heads were designed to prevent it. The reason for this was the development of better torque-limiting automatic screwdrivers for use in factories. Rather than relying on the tool slipping out of the screw head when a torque level is reached, and thereby risking damage to the driver tip, screw head and workpiece, the drivers were designed to consistently achieve a desired torque. Camcar LLC claims this can increase tool bit life by ten times or more.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

Crikey, they've even gone metric with their money! It is my opinion that the metricing of the UK is responsible for the downfall of the empire. It kept their minds sharp enough to run half the world when they had to keep track of inches, feet, rods, ounces (several kinds!), pints and pounds/shillings/pence.

No, there are American bikes, metric bikes, Euro bikes and Brit bikes. I emailed a metric cruiser magazine once and asked them why no Triumphs were ever in their magazine and that was their bottom line answer.
