Hi all,

I've never posted a pic of my 2003 Speedy and I have just put on the 'last' of the accessories. (I think! )

I installed a new Clearview Shield today and took her for a spin. I really like this wind shield and it fits right up with the Triumph summer shield brackets.

I thought I would just post one pic of her and see what y'all think. I'm not sure yet if I like the look of my Willie&Max studded bags. At the time I ordered them I must have been in one of my manic moods.

Also I just wanted to take a chance to say this in a wonderful forum and to say thanks to everyone for helping me since I got my Speedy.

Bob

like the bike but personally don't like the bags or shield. That doesn't mean you should remove them thats your personal preference.

I've always liked the yellow one's but not sure about the bags either. Personally I'm not a fan of too many studs and stuff but if you want why not try these ones

They are hepco and Beckers. Really pricey but for a reason. Like lots of us, I have used easy brackets so that they are nice and easy to remove but at the same time lock on. The bags can also be locked which I like.

Also as you can see, I also have the clearview which yes can detract from a bike's asthetics however, I have always taken a perspective that my bike firstly will be practical and secondly look good. If I can achieve both then good but otherwise for me, not getting wind or rain blasted on a trip etc is brilliant

Thanks Warren, aren't we doing alright to have such nice bike eh

I liked your comment that you were nearly sorted re the accessories etc yeah right, heard that one before. It's so addictive I find. Just love doing stuff to mine and I still have so many ideas for for add ons and changes

You'll find the shield really good and particularly if you are going on a tour. For an hour or so riding without one is fine but over time, being able to be protected makes the journey so less tiring.

I remember a mate who I was with who didn't have a shield and we were riding on some foggy and rainy mountain roads. When we stopped, he was soaked and I was dry. I have more stories but I think you know what I mean. Of course in Australia we can get hot dry winds too ....

I have considered taking my shield off, but I know when I'm on a good thing, so have left it on

Ride safe

Thanks so much for your compliments and input on my bike.

I tend to agree with y'all about the bags with the studs and will most likely change them out at some point for another style.

Occasionaly I go on rides with aquaintances who own Harleys and I am totaly blaming them for their bad influence on me concerning buying those studded bags.

I like your speedy, and I confess that I really like staffo's bags. They really look right with the other shapes and styling of the bike. But give your studs a chance, maybe they'll grow on you. I really like the studded look on my 57, but then that is certainly a different kind of looking bike. As for windshields, I really like the look of one on my old bike, but I would prefer the non windshild look on my 02, but practicality, rain, bugs and cold ensure that I have one anyway. I wish I was as tough as I was when I rode non-windshield for the first twenty years of my bikin. I admire the photo's here of the great looking trumpets with their clean, non windshield, stripped down look. Ride on fellas (untill you get old and not as tough as I was).

Hey,Bob, is that Lake Hefner in the background? Looks like it.
The shield looks fine to me, the bags...well...they'll serve their purpose. Your bike looks great.
I have yet to install this Alley Cat shield i have, but i'll have to break down and do it someday.
Stay safe!

churchkey,
Thanks for the compliments on my Speedy. Your right, That's lake Hefner in the background. I live a short distance away from it and ride by the park once in a while. Are you close to OKC? I got my bike at Performance cycles in Bethany.

I lived in OKC for years, but i'm just down the road toward Piedmont now. I almost bought a used TBA at Performance, but found another one from a private owner. Sometime we'll have to take a ride. I'd like to see that Speedy!
