Weekend of January 19th.

I am late to this thread, but just realized this is the very same weekend that I will be at a bachelor party in Montreal.

Indiscreet drinking is encouraged, so I am obligated to attend.

HMMM a Bachelor party in Montreal....Stop by a place called Club Wanda's (1458 de la Montagne) behind St. Catherines have one for me....

I hear it's a nice club...with entertainment of the Bachelor party type...

not that I would have any first hand knowlegde...

and I read some where that "private dances" were only $8.00 CA (whatever that means )

Rob,
Yep, I had a great time at last year's shindig and would like to show up again this year, but I don't know at this time if I can. I'm overseeing a lot of work done on the Prescott house right now, off and on, and I'll have to see if these projects will last though the time of your rally.

I'll try to let you know for certain by at least a couple of weeks before your rally, if that isn't too late.

(and you say you already have SNOW this year, huh?!....GOOD!!!)

What airport Logan ?

To all,

The french toast that Lee makes in itself makes the trip worth it. On the other hand the garlic bread may have the french toast beat, then Rob's open fire peach and blueberry cobbler is up there to.

Decision's, decision's what is a man to do ?

The report is in from the camp...they got 10 inches of snow on Sunday night and another inch today...Banny the sleeping arangements are vast and varied...there are at least two detached cabins available that are heated (one last year was heated by either on or off... no thermostat) the other was functioning properly both sleep 6 or 8 (I don't recall exactly how many) the main house has 4 bed rooms that sleep various amounts of people...and the great hall has a dozen or more bunk beds...the barn sleeps 16 hearty souls who don't mind sleeping sheltered without heat and there are other cabins (also unheated...but one has a large fireplace (and sleeps 20 plus) the barn has a huge field stone fireplace which we run most of the time but it still won't heat the sleeping quarters all that well...those spots are usually used by those who have winter sleeping bags ...

NONE of the beds have ANY bed linens so bring a bag or linens for them...

John the best airport would be Manchester NH...

This is not a 5 star resort...it is a older summer camp run by the presbitarian church...but it sits on some beautiful grounds...and is a chance to hang and enjoy...but it is a bit rustic...with snow on the ground it could be an old fasion New England winter escape...here is their web site clicky thing

Rob,

Round trip ATL to Manchester $225.00 not a problem, looking good right now.

What time would be good for you if you make an airport run ?

John

got a foot plus in MY yard (the Mountains got the jack pot on the Thursday storm) and MORE (much more) due in tonight...

I type all of the above with mixed emotions...it's good for the rally and the winter sports...

But it's looking grim for repeteing last years 100 mile plus Xmas morning ride

Aiight! I'm in. I managed to schedule some training in Nashua, NH the week before the rally so I will already be in the area. May as well stay and see what this winter rally thing is all about. Sounds like some anti-freeze will definitely be required, albeit discreetly dispensed in appropriate volumes. I am trying to work out details with Rob on when I should book my flights and all that other good stuff. See all ya'll there!

Are there any local places to rent snowmobiles? That way I could at least have a reason to wear a helmet.

John,

Just walk and chew gum. That should be good enough reason for you to wear a helmet

I like the snowmobile idea....we could all chip in to cover the cost?
I've got ice skates, but my skis (both dowhill and x-country)have been long lost somewhere since my drinkin' days. Rob, I'm guessing there's a lake on the property for skating?

Is Friday the arrival date?

Well she has the monday off for MLK day. So maybe we can up up late Friday or early saturday, even if we miss some of the fun we'd get to see everyone, then take our time getting home. My buddy in MA is expecting his kid to pop out right around that time too! Maybe I can swing by and see him on the way home.

Okay folks ... in putting together some quick numbers it looks like we'll have roughly 22 folks staying over Friday night ,
28 people for Saturday and Saturday night and 24 people for Sunday . I haven't heard anything from the Dill clan as of today . I'm in the process of firming up the numbers by day so I can figure out how much chow will be needed . Folks let me know if there is something you'd really like to have or if there is something I should stay away from . And yes we still have plenty of snow , we are now up to #4 for the most snow fall in the month of December ever recorded .

Don't count me out entirely, Lee. There's still a chance I can fly back there and harass...ahem...I mean, join in the revelry back there once again this year. Won't know for about another week, though.
