Went by CMX xhoppers today. A buddy of mine named Vinnie owns that place and he is imop one of if not the best bike builder around.. He has built many many many award winning bikes and the things he can do with paint will blow your mind. He is the one who taught my how to paint as well.. He makes all parts in house on old school machine. No CNC stuff here, just all execlent machine work..

Anyhow, he is getting out of the bike building business, and going back ot building race cars.. He has offerd me a great deal on his frame jig, wiht all the plates, about 80 necks, lots of tubes, pretty much enough to build 9 or 10 frames.. I mean he has it all, stuff for hard tails, soft tails, custom stuff, Really cool stuff.. Only problem is I dont have the money ot buy it and feel safe with the new shop.. OD i buy it and roll the dice, or play it safe and see if he will hold it for me? He wants ot sell it and make room in his shop for new stuff he needs and I soooooooooo want the jig.. I just odnt know what to do lol..

That is a dilema,I know the feeling of not being able to afford it for the new shop. Hey, offer to store it for him till you get more capitol.

Make a down payment as a show of good faith and have him store it for you as collateral.

jump on it if the price is right I would love a frame jig instead of the back yard methods I use now.

Gonna call him in the morning and see if he will take a 500 dollar deposit with the remaining 1500 paid off by the first of the year.

Matthew,

Look at it as an investment in your future.
A short term investment with a long term yield.

The worst he can say is that he's got to get rid of it now. Go for it!

What's up Doc? (sorry, couldn't resist) No, seriously, it sounds like a better return on a $2000 investment than any other. You mentioned it comes with it's own inventory, sounds like it should pay for itself in short order.

I understand, if you don't have it, you don't have it, but it sounds like a good opportunity. Hope he takes the deal.
