I know it probably has been mentioned before, but has anybody tried changing the cam timing on the 270crank engines in the Speedy & America. If so was it worth the effort? Also which way or ways did you try moving the cam or cams.I know they do this on the 360 Bonnie engines and seems to make a difference.

one guy over on ratnet just did this , on a 360 motor, dynoed before and after and found no advantage, and in fact went back to stock. This is the latest, afaik

I saw something but can't remember where that adv. the ex, 1 tooth held a small improvement. I seem to remember it being on an 865 engine but not sure. As far as worth the effort I couldn't tell you, I don't remember any specifics. I didn't find anything on this site with search but I had so many results I didn't check them all and not sure it was even here or not it was long enough ago I can't remember the specifics.

You might get some advantage on an 865 engine. On those, the exhaust valve closes way too early for the good of anyone other than politicians. If they could close the exhaust of politicians early, that could put an end to global warming.

There was a lot of discussion about advancing the exhaust cam a tooth on Delphi so I tried it. Didn't improve anything. Found out later that it only works on 360 degree engines, not 270.
