i have the less expensive of the two aerostich vests. very nice and warm. i don't feel the need for a thermostat. Make sure you get one that will give a snug fit over a t-shirt.
Unclecharlie has one that's powered by rechargable batteries so he's not tied to the bike. Don't know the brand.
