Anyway..., I solved the multitude key problem like Greg did with one of those quick disconnect keyrings (found a very nice stout one at ACE Hardware). I keep my ignition key on one ring and all the rest of the crap on the other end. When riding, all I have on the bike is the key, a small ring, and the fairly small connector. It works as I have no scratches/scrapes anywhere near there...
