Ward, let me give you an example of Ridge Motorsports. My speedo cable crapped out on me on a Friday. I called my dealer, none in stock, and the bike was still under warranty. Their response, bring the bike in, we'll order one, but we have to verify it's under warranty. I explained that I bought the bike there, and could even give them the VIN (by which they could verify the warranty issue). Nope, have to bring it in. Well, if I bring it in, can you take one off of a floor model, and replace the one on the floor model when it comes in. NOPE! I told them "Screw this, thanks but no thanks, I'll check some other dealers". I called Ridge, and talked to Jeff, whom I'd NEVER spoke to before. He said, "No problem, we don't have one in stock, but I can pull one from a floor model and we can sort out the warranty thing when you get here." Well, I hopped on the bike and hightailed it down there as soon as I could leave work (on a Friday night), and due to some bad directions from Mapquest and poor planning on my part about how long it would take, I didn't roll into Batesburg until almost 7pm!!!! Well, I rode by, just to see where the place was since I was figuring I would have to redo the trip since they were surely long gone by now! NOPE, the door was open and they were waiting for me, on a FRIDAY NIGHT!!!! They offered to help, offered tools, just all around SUPER helpful (I had everything so just needed the cable). While I changed out the cable, they wrote down the VIN, got my name and address, and wished me a safe ride home. After I thanked him PROFUSELY for going out of his way to help me, by taking a cable off of his floor model, AND staying late, he said, "Don't worry about it, I'll run the VIN Info Monday, and if there's anything further, we'll give you a ring!" And off I rode! They treated me exactly the same way after my wreck, and if I were near them now, I'd not hesitate to take my bike to them for anything. You won't find that kind of service (normally) from ANY place.
