I don't know about freight charges, others do. I bought a late model used pickup 10 years ago. The chevy dealer had $20 title transfer fee added on. A few weeks later when registering this truck with the local county treasurer, I asked about that fee. She said it was a scam dealers sometimes use, since the state (Montana) does title transfers automatically. Some simple math (used vehicles sold annually X $20) added up to a tidy profit. Needless to say I haven't been back there, which is dumb IMO since they lost a potential customer over a $20 bill.
Yes, there are generally some great values in the "classifieds" here, whichever direction you go.
