I ordered a 2007 Triumph America, Blue/White from MCC in Villa Park, IL. I am trading my 2005 Ducati ST3. I will ride from Jacksonville, IL to Villa Park, IL. It is going to be a LONG day of riding. I am trying to plan out a route for the way home with back-roads so I don't stay at the same RPM for quite a while. I am going to attempt to post a pic. Does anyone know if the blue/white really have a BLACK side cover? Looks like it in the pic - weird.

Oh the weather is going to be J-Ville 46 low, 70 high and Villa Park 47 low, 65 high. SHould be good weather, but I am thinking I am going to be riding about 9+ hours that day - with 4+ on the uncomfortable for me Ducati!

Da mn, I love that color! I will bet it will be closer to 11 hours riding if your avoiding hiways on the way back.

Congrats! I dont know how folks ride those cafe style racers. Feels like I am gonna go over the top! You are going to love your TBA. I have had mine for three months, 7k miles, and have left my tire prints all over the state of colorado. No problems, no worries, pure comfort, stability, and plenty 'o power for me. Enjoy and treat her right.

Hmm, a strange one. Just looked at the Triumph website and it shows one America with a matching blue side panel and the other with a black panel. You could try asking the stealer to fit a blue one. Oh, and welcome.

Put a tank bag, or if you don't have one, a fully-stuffed duffle bag on the Ducati for the first part of the trip. Leaning your weight on the bag will take the pressure off your forearms. Congrats on the Trumpet!

Congratulations man.. yep.. black side covers.. everyone. Supposed to go along with the retro look and simulate the oil tank used on the old dry sump twins.

I think I plan to go down to Ottawa, then take rout 6 to the river and take the east side of the river down (route 23 or 24?), then end up taking 78 I believe through Virginia, IL to Jacksonville. It will take a LONG time!

I found this picture on topspeed.com - it has a blue cover. Wonder why we don't get a matching cover? I guess the black one will grow on me and still look sexy

TonyG - hopefully I won't have a ton of yard work, etc next weekend, and hopefully it is good weather. I haven't taken a trip on a motorcycle around that area before. I look forward to it.

MCC had to order the blue/white for me. He said it came in on Friday. I guess there are still blue/white in the Triumph warehouse? Not sure where the Triumph "warehouse" is? Quote:

I almost forgot! With the 1,200 accessories I ordered the long slash mufflers, floorboards, and the tall sissy/rack. They are going to install them for free, but I have to pay for the carb work after the pipes and AI removed. But they are going to let me take the $130ish that I didn't use in accessories to use toward the labor! So it will look a bit different when I pick it up.

Great looking Bike, Josh. If you don't mind my asking, why did you buy the bike in ILL? I thought there was some decent dealers in FL.

I live in Jacksonville, Illinois. Not quite as big about 25,000 people.
