How hard is it to install the Triumph light bar on a speedmaster?
How about the wiring?
I know they are over $300.00.
I think it may be worth it from a safety standpoint.
There have been 3 motorcylists killed in the last week in this county.
The cage drivers pulled right in front of them.
They all claimed they didn`t see the bike coming.

I don't know about the install since I had the dealer do it but I'm assuming that it's just a straight plug and play. As for the cost, look in the archives for some cheaper alternatives. I know quite a few have put on the JC Whitney light bar and I think it looks better than the Triumph one.

The light bar was one of the first add-ons I got for mine. The install was easy as long as you feed the wire through the bar before you mount it on the bike. The wiring harness is a simple plug in, the wiring and harness is already there waiting for the relay. I put mine on as a safety feature as well. It really helps light up the road at night and I don't think people have a problem seeing me at all (from the front - the tail light is a little weak though).

It is a real easy install. That is, after you fish the wire harness through the bar! Pull the four plug side first after you stagger tape them. Then pull the right side through (again stagger tape it). You have to remove the tank so as to run the wire up to the relay. Well maybe it ain't a 5 minute job, but it is straight forward. Unlike installing the ignitor wire on the older bikes for the tacho kit...

I also got mine at the dealer.
As you say, better from a safety point of view but the stoopid thing is that they are ileagal over here ...

I've had cars flash me because of how bright they are. I think, screw 'em! They have flashed because they've seen me - job done!!!

I use mine when the light starts going or in busy traffic.
Nobby has his on all the time - I know, I've ridden for quite a few hours in front of him

I've had mine re-wired so it comes on with the main beam - rather than the aerobics exercise of switching it on when needed using the toggle switch on the back.

Mine was looked at by the dealer at one service because it blew bulbs after only using it twice!
Check the wiring in the light shells and use electrical tape on ANY exposed connections/wires.
Sounds obvious but there seems to be a few that have blown bulbs and/or fuses because of wiring.

Except for pulling the wire through the bar, it’s pretty simple. If you follow what Moe posted you shouldn’t have a problem. It took me less then an hour to install the lightbar.

I added light bar and a headlight modulator. Well worth it.
