mine did (07 SM). they where fastened with two socket head screws on each side, and I head heard all of these dreaded just-spins-stories, but mine came off without a hitch, they weren't even torqued that tight. 
and I agree with Al, you will love the SS. the sound in the pipes are soooooo sweet! remove the baffle and they are obnoxiuos loud too, me like! wouldn't want any other pipes on my bike...
