Sounds like a good wife!
The pipes definitely don't come with the mounting brackets, just reuse the old ones. They will not come off easily, the bolt inside the factory muffler is typically stripped. Try using an impact wrench with some PB Blaster soaked in. If that fails and the nut just spins (one of mine back in '04 didn't come off), I had a buddy put a spot weld on the bolt just enough to allow me to break the fastener loose. You will love the sound of the SS pipes, it will be worth the effort (mine still look brand new as well).
