Ok, I've got the manual in front of me and it says and I quote: A protective trigger switch is fitted close to the alarm control unit protecting it from access eg: under the seat, side panel or petrol tank.
If access is required to the area protected by the Protective Trigger Switch, the alarm system must be placed in Service Mode (see below) or the system must be disarmed.
Use this facility to disable the alarm system eg: when you wish to service or clean your motorcycle, or remove the battery.
Disarm the alarm by pressing O
With the ignition switch
ON ,
Press and Hold the O until an audible beep is heard. The ignition can then be switched off.
That's It. Done, Here's the Shi#ty Bit though: When the alarm system is in Service Mode, the led alarm indicator on the bike will remain
On (yeah so) and (wait for it) an
Audible Beep will be heard every 15 seconds

Believe me, it drives you nutso listening to that beep every 15 seconds.

In Service Mode, the protective Trigger switch is disabled by simply pressing O.
So there you go. The reason I didn't remember it is because my memories shot and when I last did it, the beeps gave me the proverbial, so I just tried to not knock the switch. I did though, several times

but it mightn't bother you

Personally I think Gina's suggestion is spot on. Tape it down (thanks Gina)
Hope that answers your question anyway, and sorry for the delay. I have brain issues
