When I relocated mine, I worked from the control side. I removed the whole control unit and loosened the throttle cable adjusters all the way. I then worked the cables off and out of the throttle control housing, slid them out of the tubes, moved them to the other side, and reassembled.
Taking the tank off will make it a WHOLE lot easier.
Some people did this from the carb side, btw......
