i believe if its a new item you pay both taxes, gst and pst. but if its used you pay only one tax (not 100% on this). if i remember correctly , the tiger guy , did pay state tax ,however it did have a texas plate (as he registered it there )on it and allowed him to ride it through the border ,it can take a few weeks to sort all this red tape BS out ,but if your saving a couple of Gs i think its well worth it

only if you dont register the vehicle for use in that state .this is where it can get a bit complicated, insurance wise . if you trailer(spit)the bike back home then you only need trailer insurance ,but the canadian border guards can(if they so choose) put a hold on the bike for a few days to clear customs. still a great deal for us Canadians right now ,if only i handnt just bought a house
