I've pretty much decided that I'll be buying my next bike over the border.
I pay the U.S. price and when I bring it over I pay our GST and PST on the U.S. price. On top of that there is a $209 charge for the paper work and a $79 dollar charge for safety check. Let's see what that would work out to....

16,699 x Michigan tax = 17,366.96
+ GST and PST = 19,798.33

Canadian Pricing
19,999 x GST and PST = 22,798.86
