At the risk of getting jumped on, I'm on the sellers side. Just step back a sec. and think about the real world transaction. You wouldn't normally expect him tosell something to a stranger for way less that its value. eBay doesn't change that. It just gives us a forum for complaining.
I have sold lots of stuff on ebay - mostly my own odds and sods - not bought for the purpose. Selling for under my cost is the normal situation. If I committed the error this guy did - no reserve, didn't cancel the auction when it wasn't working out, I THINK I might feel obligated to go through with it but I dunno - converted to C$ it would be a lot to lose.
