I could see them doing this. If they can use common components with say the Z4, but a distinctive body, they could make a killing. There are lots of people who, just like the Mini, would love a Brit car, especially a roadster, even if once you look past the skin you find a BMW engine or tranny. Not sure how the MG's are doing currently, but I've seen a couple of them in Germany and they were drop dead gorgeous....
