No it is true. Stockers get great mpg. For example Red gets an easy 50mpg. Vera gets 35mpg. Red is stock. Vera has Sceptres...
Red hits reserve at 150miles. Vera hits it with a pingel at 122. Almost ran Vera out of gas. Rolled into the gas station on fumes!
Put in 4.2 gallons.  And I might have put in more too as the pump would NOT pump slow enough to keep from splashing.
odo had 145 miles after hitting reserve at 123 miles.
