Okay. The story was there on FOX news 20 minutes ago. Really. I'm not lying. Michelle Obama's van collided with a motorcyclist. Look it up. NOT my imagination this time.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Timothy Scott Emerson, 41, of Iowa Falls, Iowa. He was taken by medical helicopter to Mercy Medical North Hospital, where a nursing supervisor said he was treated and released.
A report from the Hampton Police Department said the van carrying Michelle Obama was trying to make a left turn when it was struck. The motorcycle, which was three vehicles behind the campaign van, attempted to pass and struck the left side of the van, the report said, while traveling on the wrong side of the road.

It says he wasn't wearing a helmet, so the biker was obviously at fault.  Chances are good that the caravan stopped for no obvious reason, at least the last vehicle not signaling and blocking the view of the turn signals (if any used at all) of the other vehicles. Since they were traveling in a group, chances are good that they had their 4 way flashers going while traveling, which is illegal in many states. Now, when any motorist, including an unhelmeted motorcyclist, comes upon a group of vehicles sitting in the middle of the road with 4 way flashers going, they usually (and quite reasonably) assume they really are stopped for some reason and will pass them if it seems safe to do so. In this case, the lead driver decides that because they are the Obama caravan, no one would dare to try to pass, even if they are sitting in the middle of the road with all 4 signal lights flashing as if they had just collided from following too close, and turn without looking in their mirror.

I heard this on the news earlier and according to witnesses, the bike was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Not my words, just from the news.
