Tony Soprano always takes out all that stuff when buying a new car, he doesn't trust that stuff either (actual story line from a few seasons back).
Having Onstar is enough. Big Brother doesn't need to you to activate it. They can. Same with lowjack.
Worried about your cell phone tagging you somewhere? Turn it off. Paranoid? remove the battery.
