Exactly! My folks used to ****** about the price of gas all the time, till I presented the same arguement. Gas has caught up with everything else, the cost of living has increased across the board. The house my folks paid $40k for in the 80s, they sold for $150+ in the 90s. Econobox cars, a pinto, in the 70s could be had for what, $2000 new? A ford Fukus is how much? $12-15K. I think gas has risen by roughly the same ratios?!

Do I like it? No. Get worked up about it? No. Just keep driving my 190,000mi VW (instead of my more comfortable Jeep cherokee).
