Hello All,
Sorry to post on such a sad topic here, but I just thought I'd let you all know that in my small town of Hay River, Northwest Territories we lost a dedicated and respected RCMP officer today. His name is Constable Christopher John Worden and he was responding to a domestic call for police assistance at about 5:00 a.m. this morning when he was shot and killed in the line of duty. Police are still searching for the gunman and are not releasing too much information about the incident at this point. Const. Worden was 30 years old and had a wife and young child. I met and spoke with him once at a mutual friend’s house about a year ago and he seemed to me to be a very nice man. Anyway, the event has really turned the small community upside down and I just felt like posting it in case some of you wish to put Chris's family in your thoughts prayers.

I am sitting in Scotland its 01-40 in the morning and my wife is out with some friends. I have to go and pick her up when I read something like about the loss of life especially when it is somebody trying to better their community my heart is full of sadness. I will go into Glasgow shortly and our police will be dealing with drunken violent abusive idiots with nothing more than batons and pepper spray. I hope they all make it home safe tonight. My thoughts are with his family.

Sorry to hear about this Lionel. Please keep in touch with his wife, so you can inform his child of how important his/her Dad was, later on. My Dad was in law enforcement, and I try to honor fallen officers any way I can. These are the keepers of the law.

It's always a tragedy when an officer goes down, but even more of a shock in a place like that. My sincerest salute to the fallen Constable, thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

It's always sad to hear when someone makes the sacrifice of their life just to do their job. I hope they catch the person who is responsible.

I second that. People who do these things are so evil and need to be removed from the planet.

Sickening to hear, that somebody going to help others has lost his life. My thoughts go to his wife and son/daughter.

Is there a branch of the Patriot Riders up there? That officer is definitly a Fallen Hero and should be honored as such.
So sorry to hear about this. I wish his family all the support they can get.
