Yet again the loyalty and willingness to jump to the defence of fellow riders on this site impresses me. I too know Adey, I remember him joining the site. I went on rides with him etc. Of course that was on our home turf in the UK. I agree he could be charming.
I used to banter with him on the site - look up some of the posts if you like. Maybe I just pushed the wrong buttons.
So I will say no more.
As you say - never critisise another unless you walk a mile in their shoes first. Mainly because then you will be a mile away and they will have no shoes
