Hi All, Just got back from a ride this afternoon (1st one in a couple of weeks). I was manovering the bike around and noticed that the front forks are squeaking something terrible, sounds like rubber bushes ?? What should I use to lubricate these things?

Paul - I didn't respond to this initially because I thought that someone who's actually had the problem might provide some suggestions. Since that hasn't happened, I'll tell you what little I know. The bushings (seals?) are actually a fairly tough plastic (nylon?). The challenge would seem to be getting some sort of lubrication up inside the shrouds. Aerosol grease/lube? Lithium grease on a flux brush? Maybe drop shrouds for better access from both ends. Pump forks or go for a ride when done.

Some threads earlier this year mentioned a quick shot of silicon lube as the solution to this.

Hi Paul, Ed's right. I had the same problem - kind of ambarassing riding down the street with that squeeking going on . A quick shot of silicon spray should stop that.

Yes , a spray of aircraft lube cured mine for 2 years now , also , grab the shroud and turn it a few degrees , sometimes that will silence it .
