I bought one of these from fast Eddy and put it on last night and took my first ride this morning comuting to work.

I wish at this point I had bought a shield much earlier. My long trip earlier in Summer would have proved more comfortable especially in the late stages of each day.

At highway speeds with no screen your face, neck and head effectively get beaten up big time. After about seven hours of hard riding your neck begins to feel the fatigue of the constant buffeting.

The Alley Cat effectively nullifies buffeting of the upper body and face. I am six feet two with long legs and I ride sans helmet so I do not note any extensive buffeting of the top of my head. Maybe just a little bit at the very crown of the head.

Having read Fast Eddies review of Memphis shades I have to concur that adding the lowers will help greatly with any shield.

I did find per his assessment that if I place my gloved hand down just in front of the tank and behind the fork it reduces the volume of air onrushing from there up to the area of the face. Based on my ride this morning I intend to go ahead and get some lowers. This will further reduce the remaining air flow around the face and eyes.

The Alley cat is a nice looking addition to the Speedmaster. Its onobtrusive as a sportshield and is effective in its purpose.
