a sport bike like the suzuki sv100 or hyabusa

Hyabusa.....wow, brilliant bike but waaaaaaaayyyyyy to fast. Everyone i know who has owned one has told me how they had to sell it because it was so diseptiveley fast. They are so smooth and quiet thet you sit thinking you are doing a leisurely 75/80 when in reality you are clipping along at a ton plus. Beautiful machine, but kiss goodbye to your license.

The SV1000. I can talk a little from experience on these. The SV is the second generation TL1000. I had a 97 TL1000S, and i can tell you it was one wonderful machine. V-Twin touque, very powerful and handled like a dream. The SV has been detuned a little. taken away some of the top end to give it more mid range, which it didnt need as it pull from 30mph in top without any trouble. The big advantage between the SV and the TL. The SV is a lot more comfortable. The bars are not so low down. The TL was very uncomfortable, clip on bars were set low and your wrists took all of your body weight. The SV is not so radical in that department. A very nice bike. Go for it, they sound fantastic with a set of Yoshimura cans as well. A Ducati with out the servicing costs....well, almost.
