You are lucky the drilled slide mod worked for you. I did not have so much luck. After doing the mod I occasionally get a “hick-up†type backfire whenever I quickly crack open the throttle. Not too often – but enough to be annoying, and bring on a small feeling of regret.
The mechanics at 3 of the regions Harley Davidson agencies no longer perform this mod for Harley owners for the same reason. They suggested I should have tried a more reversible mod such as lighter slide springs. Or purchase another set of springs and cute a short length off each.
