Toymakers this Sun the 30th anyone? It's supposed to be a nice day.
It's a good day to come over the ferry Benny!

Someday I'll have to check out this "Toymakers" place. They serve an honest cup of coffee in large enamel cups?

...but not this particular Sunday, enjoy

I may stop on the way to the Kent CAMA show , or maybe not.
Lately I've been wondering why we (my wife & I) go there. I suppose to chat with the other riders is the draw. Getting the correct order in a timely manner at Toymakers has been a crap shoot lately. They tend to lose entire or portions of orders, or perhaps they give them to other patrons? I dunno. I'd say these issues have happened to me & Carla on 4 out of the past 10 visits, or else they bring my meal first, then hers 20 minutes later. The one waitress's perpetual and sullen throw the food at you attitude isn't helping my desire to return either. I'm not looking for a red carpet to be rolled out, but for her to at least fake a dram or two of personality or at least to speak once in a while, or at least curl her lip corners up to flat horizontal, as opposed to the customary I hate my job but won't quit position might be nice. Maybe it will get better after leaf peep season.

Martin,

I'll take that as a "less than glowing endorsement". The Hope Old Ice House Pizzaria & Bakery is less than a tank away, if it doesn't snow this weekend? Well, it's still less than a tank even with snow, but a miserable tank!

The other place, Mountainside Cafe, is very good.
I'm likely to roll out around 9 for breakfast, then down to the CAMA show, so I may not see y'all, unless you want to giddy up at the crack of dawn. The CAMA exhibitors tend to begin to leave in mid afternoon Sunday, so I want to get there to see all there is.

Bucky,
Took the wife to Toymakers over the labor day weekend.
She was less than impressed
Most of the time I stop in during the week when they are not so busy. Service and food tend to be better.
We need to find a place up in the Berkshires.
There is a great place in Litchfield, think its called Peggys??? Its on Rt202 south of town.
Maybe we need a section on this site to rate roadside cafes.
Still may stop at TM for coffe this Sun.
Mark
