In response to some of the other posts on here today.
Real Sport IS Football, aka Soccer, aka Futboll, aka Fottie, aka ...REAL FOOTBALL.
But i will pass comment on some other sports.
American Football. I do enjoy it. It is actually a very easy game to understand, (it has to be, half the crowd are drunk from the tail gate party before the game). I learnt the rules to American Football by playing it on computer games. I dont watch much of the pro game, but do watch the Univeristy of Tennessee games with my wife every week. Though they are not much good this year. Havent been much good since Peyton Manning moved on to the Colts.
The only thing I do not like about American Football is it takes so long to play the game. 3 and a half hours to play 60 minutes of ball......that says to me, they stand around doing nothing for tooooooooo long.
Baseball......OH MY GAWD. I know, it's an American pass time, apple pie and all that, but please. I used to think Cricket was THE most boring game invented but then i went to an Atlanta Braves game. zzzzzz zzzzzz zzzzzzz
Basketball....... people say there is not enough scoring in soccer. Well, theres to much scoring in basket ball. When you have a game that socres 95-101 or what ever these scores go up to. TO MUCH SCORING. From the moment the games starts all they do is take it in turns to run up the field and put the ball in the basket. Easier to turn on the tv at last minute of the game and see who has the last shot. Normally thats the winner.
Wrestling, not that WWF stuff, but REAL Wrestling......oh my. I better not talk to much about this. Might get the thread locked. But all i will say is this. Two men rolling around on a mat in their skivvies. Need i say more.
Australian Rules Football. Now this is a truly mad sport. I have no idea of the rules. Im not even sure if there are any, though i guess there is because there is a referee running around the field. The object of the game, beat the sh1t out of the other team and try and get the ball between the posts.

trust those Australians to gives us a relaxed and civalized game.
Cricket...... zzz zzz zzz zzz BUT, very civalized. How may sports do you know where they stop mid afternoon for tea. I hate televised cricket, but...there is nothing better then taking a mid summers drive or ride out in to the English country side to some small village in the middle of no where, pulling up to the village green, sitting outside the village pub supping on some real ale and watching two amateur cricket teams play a sunday afternoon match. That to me is a great English Sunday Summer afternoon. Of course, you could also do the same thing but leave out the cricket

However, at the end of the day. Soccer is the real deal, everything else is just a distraction.
Now, would you like me to give you my views on Formula 1 v NASCAR.
