I think there are plenty of us on this forum who have never really tested the top speed regardless of our pipes or our jetting.
The fastest I have ever had my bike up to is around 94 miles an hour indicated. Only been there a few times and it seems that going to over 100 miles can be done by the bike. It dont matter to me though. Top speed of 100 miles an hour or thereabouts is enough.
If a top speed of well over 100 miles an hour was something I must have for whatever reason I would have bought a different bike ala a Rocket 3. Even the Rocket has a governing system to rein in those 140 horses.
When we ride on the street it is not often nor even desired to be going much over 85 miles an hour anyway even up on a smokin clear section of straight slab. Gas mileage goes to ****** in handbasket and the risk of john law collaring us for an spensive traffic ticket increases exponentially.

That's about 137 kph. If you're checking with your bike's speedo you're just p!ssing in the wind anyway. They're not known for their accuracy.

170 km/h = 91.79 miles per hour. You should be able to hit 177 km/h or 110 mph easily.

The fastest I ever had my speedy was on Intersate 82 just past Boise, ID in 2004. The factory speedometer was reading 118mph. This was with a tailwind, a 19-tooth primary sprocket installed, carbs dialed in pretty good, with Bub megaphones, and I was lighter then too (below 200 lbs).
They're not the fastest bikes around.

I have had mine over 100 indicated and felt it could go faster. It's me that doesn't feel to good about going so fast.

Last week I hit 102 mph (indicated on the speedo, surely less in reality) in 4th but the wind buffeting was so stong I couldn't get my foot to the lever to try 5th; it was like there was a big hand pushing against my leg. The America bars and that saddle position really don't lend themselves to higher speeds.

I've had my Speedy up to just over 120mph indicated. Actual? I stole a glance at the tach, about 6800rpm. This is with a 16T sprocket. Other than shorty mufflers, it's stock.

my america will do indicated 95 mph and that is it. I limit that because of roadster windshield and factory jetting.
